Welcome to Giddey
Giddey is a daily basketball draft puzzle where your goal is to draft the highest graded team possible. Your draft grade is based on two scores: Talent and Chem.
Talent
Each player has an Overall Rating (OVR) shown on their card. Higher OVR players contribute more to your talent score. Talent per player = OVR - 75 (so a 100 OVR adds 25, a 90 OVR adds 15, a 76 OVR adds 1).
Chem
Increase your team's chem grade by connecting players on the grid from the same team, division, or draft year. There are three levels of chemistry between players:
Same team OR same division + draft year
Same division OR same draft year
No matching traits
Chemistry match labels appear on the lines showing what connects players (TEAM, DIV, YR). As a player creates connections, the dot under their card changes colors for bonus chem:
+11 Chem — Player has 4+ line chem
+6 Chem — Player has 2+ line chem
No bonus
Max chemistry = 125 (13 connections × 2 + 9 dots × 11)
The Grid
Your lineup is arranged in a formation with 13 connections between 9 positions. The Center (C) connects to 4 adjacent players — making it the most important piece of the puzzle.
Other Rules
Once you add a player to your team, you cannot swap them for a different player card option from that round.
You can drag cards on the grid to swap positions at any point. Rearrange to maximize chem!
The UTIL (Utility) spots accept any position.
